During your Trip Planning Consultation, we’ll identify your course preferences and build your itinerary from there. Once you’re happy with that, GTP1 will make all the tee time bookings on your behalf. Please bear in mind, this is subject to availability and there may be a little back and forth and flexibility required to lock down all the details.
Remember also, The Old Course is a very special situation and if you aim to play it, requires going into the lottery. We can guide you on the process for that.

Whether you’re looking for the convenience of a hotel or prefer the flexibility and space of an apartment or lodge close to the links, we can help you. We’ll provide some options for you & your fellow travelers and make all the bookings on your behalf once your selections are made. One thing we can assure you of is all the options we present will be of the highest quality.

Playing 18 holes a day and walking the links, rather than riding in a cart, requires attention to good food before and after! Forget everything you may have heard about British food, as Scotland offers very fine cuisine. Of course, we know the local area very well, have eaten in all the places we recommend and rely on friends nearby to keep us informed of new, wonderful places to eat. This ensures we can provide you with the very best of choices, whatever type of food is your preference.
We’ll make recommendations. You make decisions. We’ll book and ensure everything works around your golf itinerary.

Getting the competitive juices going is important to most golfers, as it ensures a little more focus as you stand over that two and a half footer (you know, the one you feel you’re playing partners should have given you?). Whether you’re playing a nassau, wolf, skins or points quota, the game is even more enjoyable when everything is set up for you ahead of the trip and all you need to do is input the scores after every hole.
Whatever game formats your group wants to play, we’ll organize everything via a mobile app and ensure individual and team wagers are accumulated over the course of your trip.
And if you want a small trophy to reward the winner/s and ensure bragging rights have a permanent visual reminder, we can arrange that too!

Experiences that create stories to tell for years
As Lewis strode towards his “breakfast” ball sitting in the middle of the fairway, his caddie called over to him “This way, sir”, as he headed down some steps on to North Berwick beach, where Lewis’s first drive had settled.
Reluctantly, Lewis re-directed to the smooth sand, laid down his cigar and striped a 7 iron back into play. He made bogey - which was a better score than some of us on that 2nd hole of the West Links into a stiff westerly wind - and so one of many stories was born from our trip to the home of golf.
As founder of GTP1, I share this with you as just one small detail of a recent trip to Scotland, as I don’t think anything beats playing the historic links, pitting your wits against the natural elements and of course, the banter with the caddies!

Ian, the founder lived, worked and played golf in Scotland for twelve years before moving to the Atlanta area. He now provides a specialist, high end service in planning small group golf trips focused on Scotland.

Ian is 50 years a golfer, growing up playing wonderful golf courses on the North West coast of England like Formby, Hillside and Royal Birkdale.
Ian worked and played golf in Scotland for twelve years before moving to the US. He now provides a high end, concierge type service to North American golfers wishing to experience all that Scotland has to offer.
